How fine it is to stop, sit and reflect on a year, which is in effect what I did on 20th March 2026. It was exactly 6 years ago, that on March 20th 2020 we had our planet celebration with Leon and Bo leading, before COVID closed us down, it was our last public facing event.
This day both Bo and Leon were here for this years equnox 6 years later, part of a gathering of friends and colleagues from different walks of our lives: Peter and Sue from Metfield, Sara and J, long lost friends, Jasper and his Hungarian wife who talked with Gill about her Budapest in 1959, Chris, Esther and Andrew (arriving a bit later) Virginia, Marion, Jenny, April, Alice and Emma and Mell from Kinda, Martin, ex Kinda, Jonathan who’d put up Earth, Paul from EPS who’d printed the signs and discovered where we were.
Suzanne led us down to the circle, and with her clear projecting voice she called our directions. Mell intoduced us to the ritual for Bo now 16 and Brook now 13, both of whom had come to Kinda right from the start of our journey all those 8 years ago. They had both made a box of treasure representing their identities which they buried in the wood.
While they did this, the rest of us walked down past Earth to the community garden, where Marion talked of growing and drew our attention to how different it was to last year, how production had started, and now to begin the plans for the forest garden.
Back at cabin fire, after food and chai, Jonathan alerted us that above the International Space Station was passing and would fade as it came under the shadow of the earth. I learned from Leon that this was a declining space station, on it’s last legs (or whatever space stations have) and once to the end, would crash into the earth at a safe place. This International Space Station represented the first and last of international collaboration. From now on, each country would have its own space stations, and there was a feeling of sadness in this vision.
