I could not remember who gave me this tree with huge leaves. But luckily Del and Thalia rocked up and asked me how was the tree they left in the nursary, the one with large leaves. So I took them to where we had planted it, Richard and I, earlier this year.

Thalia was a friend of Alou, Alison Little, who I grew up with. As I said to thinks in an email recently: Although I have worked with people with dementia – three successful projects – Alou is the first person I have known and who no longer knows me. I realised with great sadness when Thalia asked after Alou, and I felt the loss of connection, like a kind of death.
Del on fine form, joyful being 80, fit and curious, they rocked up for a spontaneous picnic. Amazing.
