Vines to land

They arrived 30th April and are finally planted on the 1st June.

They came from Derek (Derek@winegrowers.info) who was recommended via Flint wine, visited last year with Rupert. The variety is Solaris, a sturdy disease resistant type. Derek said his parents lived in Halesworth (a long time ago!)

With the drought, the earth became dry and crusty. I could not dig my spade in. Radical decision, I hired a digger found a driver, and hay presto a trench dug

Couldn’t have done it without MJ. After a full day work she helped fill, and mix with mushroom manure and plant. The rain is due tonight, I cannot hear it.

Ryan helped with the final push, and we got them all in before the rain came.
