I’d never planted an acorn before. Taking instruction from Serena, I leaned to plant, Jay beak depth. Not until we were in the Pear Tree, did I open an Acorn and see it’s bud at its tip – i’d expected growth from its cup, the part joined to the mother. Now these late October days, I see their shoot or root emerging from their sacs of food on the warm ground, under the mother oak.
I have not grasped the land, it loiters as I get lost in Greenparty, michael life, but I and elders and children have grasped this mast year for acorns. 8 gifted pots from Suffolk Tree Warden group, have been planted out. Now to wait for the fruit to emerge.
