Planting more hedge

Our second Warm Room Thursday, found us planting the last of the hedge, after finding the bare root saplings I’d forgotten I’d healed into the field. Only the oaks had been nibbled, a lesson to learn.

Sam, who was once locked down in the wood and is now an activist for Stop Oil, joined us for a while. Louisa came, expecting Paul, and Kally bringing her mother and an official form for us to fill in. Martin and Oliver, Diana and Flo, Leslie, Jo, Peter (of course), and Roy for the first time. We planted the last of the gifted bare root samplings.

Back at the cabin we planted out the oaks, while Peter fitted the dogs cage, turned into a seed protector cage, together. Chai, sausage rolls, a poem by Michael Lasky, and talk of keeping stuff, like photographs, letters, objects collected over time. One had destroyed all, and felt unburdened, but we who were doing the Hopes and Dreams project, recalled how essential these memories were for a person who’d lost short term memory.
