Crispin arrived, with his dumper driver, Tye, on an inauspicious wet grey Monday. The ground was sodden, Crispin most pessimistic, but even so they set to, carving the pond out of the clay.

With MJ creating a thing of beauty of Clive the Compost toilet, Shaun arrived to give advice about the field, handling the soil, (sand loan, and dead) easily finding evidence of history passing through the land.
Finally on a somewhat brighter day, the pond took shape. Jo created a magnificent hibernaculum out of the felled Maple with clay on top.
