KFS Wood working day

Oh were we blessed with fine weather, almost shirt sleeves. We gathered, us 4 directors Kym, Louisa Mell and I, joined with Megan and Leon. Mell – still recovering from her operation – sat in a chair and sharpened knives, while we worked around, and she threading ideas into our spheres.

November 2020, four directors and a Hazel.

As Christina cleared the northern ditch in preparation for laying the hazel double hedge later on in January, we accomplished two important tasks, mainly for KFS, but I could not have done these on my own, and there is a joy in working as a tribe. After clearing the fallen willow and hazel, we were able to move the dome gifted by Graham (his daughters wedding Dome) to this newly cleared area. The 2nd task was emptying the green tool shed caravan and sorting out the KFS inherited bags gifted by Jadzia. Having Kym involved, all sentimentality went out of the window, she takes no prisoners, keeps nothing not needed. It took an ingenious imaginative campaign from Levon and Hazel to find creative uses of 6 lampshades that persuaded me to keep them for another year.

Having a tool shed back and all tools laid out is a joy I had to visit to behold the next morning to take this photograph!

The cleared ditch boundary, work done by Christina – amazing and impressive.
