The increasingly used entrance to Kinda (some days 10 facilitators cars parked per day!) was finally completed, with type 1 filling in the potholes that the taxi’s delivering AP children used to complain about. About £6,000 in total, including material, machine hire and uncomfortably expensive labour, that needed to fit in when Kinda not on site – a rare window.
At the same time, we moved the tree nursery from near the cabin to the more useful place near the entrance, and access to greater water source. Bedding in some of the remaining hedge plants to plant out in the Autumn. Still a few to pot on. I need to spend a few nights and days in the wood, away from a computer screen, but the Pits is heating up as we near our deadline.
After a weekend of digging in neatly 1000 hedge tree whips, the perfect weather conditions allowed me to tempt to plant more. In manure rich soil planted 40 crab apple and 25 hazel – all by footpath at north head of pits.
