Bunker fire and restoration

The great observer, jo, called just as Christina and I about to eat. A fire in your bunker, he said, shall I call the fire brigade? I went immediately, but could see as he did it was not dangerous and I fact diminishing. He’d seen some lads near by looking mischievous, smelt smoke and investigated. They’d burnt my wood table used as a picnic table when planting the hedge row with Peter. They’d also burnt some tree plastic spirals. Both small things but annoying. The natural chimney of the bunker for the smoke exit. I called Alison who advised police, so I reported, to log the event, and posted on community Facebook.

It was a prompt to attend to this area.

With gos today, while he dug out the entrance to eventually enable a door to be fixed, I cleared the rubbish of tin cans, cigarette lighters, etc, then planted some hawthorn around, to form a potential hedge. The ground moist and giving, although I know I am late now to plant. I laid, late again, some elm, to form another natural barrier.

Who is responsible if there is an accident in the bunker?

To inspire us we went to visit Holton hall park bat bunker. A much better preserved whole bunker as this would have been once. inside the forms necessary for bat habitation – bat bricks and water collected for mosquito breading .
