The idea of silver birch and yew came from Sheffield. I saw it at Clumber Park a place randomly found on my way to stay with Richard, February this year. Silver birch – or rockstar as Paul calls them – as pioneers to mark the circle, with Yew, growing far more slowly to take over, well after my life time.
