The last day today, for the Maydencroft men, who came up to the cabin for coffee and sausages. They bought news that the Forestry Commission had just withdrawn all hedge planting funding. For them it meant uncertain winter income in future. After a couple of hours completing the land they moved off to Stuarts to plant. I cleaned out the cabin, and planted 4 horse chestnuts on the east boundary, before a magical tour of Alan’s 30 acres of woodland and pasture in Wissett. I fell in love with his moss covered wild cherry.
