Coppice in Kaliwoods 2026

It was historic. The returning to the first coppice we did in the wood, right at the beginning of this adventure, may be 9 or 10 years ago. Here it is, our first coppice group, 2018.

Paul the Stalwart led us, with Joe from Wakelyns for the first time, and joining us was Jonathan from Westall and for a short while, unexpectedly George Watts. North of the path up to the road, and surrounding the area later that year chosen by Kinda to establish their first camp. The coppice was relatively easy, with only small clumps of briar to struggle with. The red of the hawthorn wood surprised. A nice clump of spindle, and a possible child planted cherry, about 8 years old.

Good selection of stakes and binders. Should I use some to make firm the path, like the Sommerset Sweet Track?
