I tried to put off the film crew. The mud was at it’s worst after the wettest year. I took a video of the river of mud. It was not Pennemunde but WW2. But they came, all the same. Jack the fixer, dog player, drone operator, among so many other things. (He even diagnosed the battery on the cabin was dead).
A World War II story, written and directed by Lily-Anna Terizakis for her 3rd Year final film project (Fundraiser). Set during Operation Loyton in Vosges in 1944, two Soldiers find themselves seeking refuge in a woodland Cabin. A SAS Paratrooper and a Teenage German Soldier. Both thought they had arrived at a safe place, and had the cabin to themselves. The end of the war is near, yet prejudice and fear is present. The night is long, to stay alive.
In the 3 days they were here they used about a quarter of the cabin. They were excellent company, bringing me into the modern world, (via WW2) as we dined together each night. They worked hard during the day. They saw nothing of the land around, only the wood.
I’d like to invite them back to show the film at the Cut, may be part of Suffolk Shorts, and take them out into the land they did not see.
