2015 January Ground work

If we are to make a cabin, we’d need more stable access to the wood, preferably hard standing all the way up to the ponds. Well that was too much. The compromise was the entrance, and to scrape and put down hard standing for the cabin. For the first time the 5 meter by 5 meter area was marked out.

Tim, the ballet dancer on the digger – from Mark Woolnaugh’s team –  came and readied the ground, entrance and cabin.

He also moved the stumps to their new position to form a stumpery on the eastern side. The stumps dredged up from the pond and those existing above ground in the wood, already weathered. There is something so poetic about seeing the upside down of the trees reminding me of all that architecture going on below ground.
