Sunday lunch with Fe Morris, with a walk across the land her father planted 10+ years ago, flourishing. The hedge lay is partly done by Fe (the wild version) and partly by a professional hedge layer, as organised by Suffolk Tree Wardens. It shows mainly hazel and hawthorn laid, with hazel stakes and binders, leaving standards every 5-10 metes along the way.
Fittingly we had a Goose in Fresingfield. No Fox. Delicious it was, enjoyed by the dogs as well.

Collected some fine grafted fruit trees from Jeanie (Two Fields, Debenham) on the way back from collecting some finely crafted metal tree guards. Her method of seed production now in full swing is very impressive, – what does she call them, Harveys? After a lad who worked with her. I was blown away by the complex set up of Debenham Mens Shed. The fruit trees will form the orchard planed for Jen Berry.
Lunch at the Lion with Steven and Pam exchanging Parish Council woes and wherefores, and hearing about the disaster of the flood they had last year, with continued repercussions. Both in fine form. I will return in December I tell them, to walk the Deben. They know the source.
